Thanks for visiting Furrow & Trowel. I’ve worn a lot of hats over the years and made a home both in the U.S. and abroad. I’m a writer, editor, photographer, academic, educator, traveler, gardener, knit and crochet obsessive, and food experimenter.

Looking back, what’s driven me along this varied path has been an insatiable curiosity. I love learning, asking questions, and planting literal and figurative seeds. I've always preferred the journey toward mastery over the belief of arriving as a master.
